Selüloz türevleri, epoksi reçineleri, polyester reçineleri esaslı kaplama sistemlerinde ve sulu sistemlerde kurumayı geciktirmek amacıyla, %1-2 gibi düşük oranlarda kullanılan eter alkol yapılı “kuyruk” çözgen.
Kimyasal adı: Dietilen glikol mono etil eter; 2-(2-etoksietoksi) etanol (Carbitol ticari adıyla da anılır).

Kaynama noktası: 202°C; etere göre buharlaşma sayısı: ~1200; özgül ağırlığı: 0,990; kırma indisi: 1,4270; parlama noktası: 90°C

Tail solvent of ether alcohol structure, used to retard drying of cellulose derived resins, epoxy resins, polyester resin based coating systems and water-borne coatings at low quantities such as 1-2 %.
